3rd Annual Stevens Square
Christmas Tree Display
In an effort to promote holiday cheer,
the Village of Princeville, would like to give the community an
opportunity to sponsor and decorate a Christmas Tree
in Stevens Square Park. Residents,
businesses,
groups and clubs are invited to sponsor
a tree that
will bear their name or sponsor a tree
in memory
of a loved one.
In conjunction with the Christmas tree
display,
the Princeville Civic Association will
host a
Tree Lighting and Holiday Stroll on
Sunday, November 28 from 4:30pm-6:30pm.
A brief ceremony and lighting of the
park
will be held that evening at 5pm in
Stevens Square.
Trees will be
placed in the park by Village of Princeville
Public Works
beginning the week of November 15.
The Village Hall
will contact the tree sponsors, once
their tree is up
and their signage is ready for pick up.
*Decoration can
include lights.
*If using
lights, you will need to provide your own 25ft. extension cord.
*We ask that no
tinsel (icicles) or glass ornaments be used.
*Trees are out
in the elements, subject to the weather and wildlife, select your decorations
with care.
*Make sure your
decorations are securely on the tree
*All
decorations, lights and extension cords are up to the sponsor.
The last night
lights will be on, in the park, Wed., Jan. 5, 2022.
All decorations
must be removed, no later than Sun., Jan. 9, 2022.
Tree charge: $40.00 (to cover costs of
trees and materials).

Landscape Waste Removal & Burning in
Town
|
Landscape Waste: grass or shrubbery cuttings, leaves,
tree branches, and other materials
accumulated as the result of the care of the lawn, yard, shrubbery,
vines and trees.
For Princeville Public Works to pick up
your landscape waste:
A landscape waste pick up sticker is
required.
Residents can purchase the stickers at
Village Hall for $2.00 each.
Pick ups are done on Tuesdays. Call
Village Hall to arrange pick up.
Stickered bags, containers or bundles
must be placed at curb.
*Landscape waste must be contained in a bag, tied in a bundle
or within a container such as a garbage can. Containers will be emptied
by Public Works.
*Landscape waste not contained in a bag, bundle or
container,
will not be picked up.
Burning Landscape Waste Within the
Village Limits:
Landscape waste may be burned from
sunrise until 5pm on
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and
Sundays.
Open burning of landscape waste is
permissible only for landscape waste which is dry, and was generated on
the premises where the fire is located.
A fire must be attended at all times by
a competent person over age of 16.
Open burning is prohibited on all public
streets, rights of way, and sidewalks; and further is prohibited at any
location sufficiently close to any building or structure that the fire
would place the building or structure at risk.
The Village of Princeville does not have
a public dump site.
The site which the Village owns, is
designated only for brush and landscape waste. This site is regulated
by the E.P.A. and Village employees are the
ONLY PEOPLE allowed to dump and burn
landscape waste at this site.
Public Dumping is not allowed. If you
have any questions about this,
please contact Superintendent of Public
Works, Chad Gardner, 309-385-4765.

Garbage & Recycling
Updates & Reminders:
*GARBAGE pick up is every Monday.
1 brown garbage tote is provided to each
resident.
*If you need a tote, have a broken tote,
need to swap for a larger or smaller size tote, contact Village Hall.
*(NEW) if you are wanting ADDITIONAL
totes, you must contact AREA Disposal (309-274-4589) directly. There is
a $22.00 deposit, and it is $7.50 per additional tote, per month. That
additional tote fee is handled by
AREA Disposal directly.
*Bulky items such as furniture,
mattresses, etc. will have a fee accessed for the pick up. To set this
up, residents must call ahead to
AREA Disposal at 309-274-4589.
