Princeville Heritage Museum

<![if !vml]><![endif]>
The Princeville Heritage Museum will be hosting the first "Work Night", tomorrow October 10 from 6-8pm.   The Work Night will consist of reviewing things that can be done and general interest. There are tractors that have not been started in several years, engines that need work, always display work, and perhaps discussions on magnetos and 3 brush generators for example. Please contact Roy Maguire at the museum 385-1916 or email Roy at roy.maguire@wildblue.net if you can attend.

The plan now would be to meet every second Thursday of the month for whoever can attend.

Also Building 1 has the start of a display of early equipment used in production and use of corn. There will be space for additional equipment and thought is to include more Oliver equipment to add to the museum's lonely Oliver wagon. So if you have any Oliver items you would be willing to have on display during October and November, please let us know and we can arrange time to put in place. This can also be part of discussion on Oct 10th.

Akron Princeville Fire Department Needs Volunteers!!
Have you ever thought about being a volunteer firefighter? Do you live and or work in Princeville? Now would be the time that you turn that thought of volunteering into a reality. The Akron-Princeville Fire Dept is accepting applications for volunteers. We can not provide top notch service without people to respond. Although we have an immediate need for daytime volunteers, all applications will be considered. Please go to apfd.com or contact any APFD member for an application or if you have questions.

Electronics Recycling

As of January 1, 2012, the State of Illinois has prohibited many electronics from being placed in the landfills.  This means you must recycle your old electronics instead of placing them at the curb.  This includes televisions, monitors, printers, scanners, computers, keyboards, mice, fax machines, VCRs, DVD players, CD players, video game consoles, cell phones and much more.

Locally, you have options to recycle your electronics including Eagle Recycling, 510 SE Industrial Ave., Galva and Goodwill Industries in Peoria.  For more information:
